HEART OF COLOMBIA
Welcome to the Heart of Colombia! Bienvenidos al corazón de Colombia!
On your arrival to the airport in Bogotá, an English speaking member of our staff will welcome you at the airport. They’ll accompany you to your hotel taking care of any last minute questions you may have, before you rest up for a fun filled week exploring the heart of Colombia.
Your second day in Bogotá will take you all around Colombia’s fascinating capital city, and to one of the most iconic religious sites, the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá. From there, you’ll visit the historic district, the capital buildings, and the renowned Gold Museum and Botero Museum. You’ll finish the tour by taking a cable car ride to the top of Monserrate (10k ft) to watch the sunset, and experience a great view of Bogotá from above. Make sure to enjoy a traditional Tamal and a cup of hot chocolate or “aguapanela” with cheese at the iconic “Puerta Falsa”, the oldest restaurant in the country.
After one more night in Bogotá, you will head to your private suite at the Bio Habitat Hotel, in Colombia’s UNESCO declared coffee region. Here you will spend the next few days visiting beautiful coffee farms, savoring delicious authentic flavors, walking amongst the world’s oldest and tallest palm trees, and riding in a hot air balloon over the emerald countryside.
After experiencing the “paisa” hospitality in this unique region, you will fly to the Colombian Caribbean, where you will learn the history and be in awe of the beauty and magic of Cartagena de Indias and the Rosary Islands. Step back in time with a tour of Colombia’s colonial walled city while exploring castles, the historic center, urban neighborhoods, museums and one-of-a-kind seafood restaurants. Spend a day relaxing on the white sand beaches and swimming in the crystal blue waters of the Caribbean Sea on a private boat tour of the Rosary Islands.
If you fall in love with charming Cartagena de Indias and the Caribbean Coast and decide to stay longer, we are happy to help accommodate you. A trip to Old Providence or a trip to Tayrona National Natural Park would be great options!
